Including the write up of my gaming session a couple weeks ago (which I figure must count because it is, technically, fiction), I seem to have reached my goal of 15k for the month. Unfortunately, this word count includes only two completed stories. Plus, it's merely an estimate as most of my writing this month has been by hand, and I haven't felt like counting every single word. I may be over the mark or under the mark but close either way. Yay for me!

Also unfortunately, I don't think I'll be doing AF again. Ultimately, I hope I won't need that kind of jump start next April. I don't plan on going through that horrible a writer's block at the same time every year. :) The problem for me was lack of progress tracking. I didn't pick up any kind of word count bar -- the AF specific ones were too pastel and girly for me (yes, I am female, but that doesn't mean I'm obliged to be girly). I think if there had been some kind of progress bar on my profile page that I could update daily and see under my user name if I posted on the forums a la NaNoWriMo, I might have been more keen on getting stuff done. It didn't help that I did so much of it by hand and lacked accurate word counts. It also didn't help that I didn't focus on any one project.

Still, I'm happy that I was able to use this to get myself back into the habit of writing daily. That, along with changing life circumstance and good medication, has gotten me out of that block. So now I just need to settle on something to work on and get to it.

Congrats to those of you who've accomplished your goals and good luck to those who aren't quite there yet. I'm sure I'll run into some of you again in November. Until then, happy writing!

The name's Michael. What I'm writing this time around is a fantasy/romance entitled Fire in Tyrasii. I won't give away too much about the plot but if you want some snips, I'll give you this link: http://aprilfoolsnovels.com/forum/index.php?topic=332.0

In case you're wondering about the title, the word "fire" has many meanings. For starters, dragons are involved. Secondly, war is involved. Thirdly, true love is involved.

Hello!

I am known as space_samurai on the AF forums. You may have seen me whining about my pathetic word count there. ^_^ My goal was to be 15k of anything. February and March were black holes for my writing -- either a few hundred words on stuff I gave up on and never went back to or simply not writing at all. AF was to be a kick in the butt for Muse and me.

It's not working out that way.

I've done approximately 3000 words in three short stories, two of which are finished, but only one of which is typed and posted on my LJ.

And then there's the novel that I thought I didn't want to write. Since I'm handwriting it, I can only estimate how many words it is now. I'd say at least 5000 if not more.

So yeah, progress! But again with the not finishing stuff. So I'm a little conflicted as to whether things are going well for me.

I hope you guys are doing better than I am!

How's everyone doing? WC, anyone?

This is the place to post your end-of-week-two wordcount, and a snippet of your work(If you wish.) - keep to about 500 words or less pleaseandthankyou.

Go on! Show off your awesomeness!!

(Mine will be added later, because my novel was stupidly left on my Mum's computer, and you don't want to read my coursework. :P)
